🚨 Gerard Pique announces his retirement at 35

Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique, has decided that now is the time to hang up his boots at the age of 35, as he announced that his final game will be against UD Almeria on Saturday in La Liga. The Spaniard has been a great servant of club and country, playing 615 games for Barcelona and 102 games for Spain and has seen both the peak of the Blaugrana and the downfall.


Pique, joined the Barca Academy at 10 years old, and has been a Culer since he was born, with his Grandfather once being the director of the club. He then made went onto join Manchester United from the Academy in 2004 for around £4.75 million and went onto make 23 appearances for the club, and joining Real Zaragoza on loan for a season. He then returned back to home in 2008 for £4.5 million and made his first official debut against Wisla Krakow in 2008 in the Champions League Qualifiers, with the side winning 3-0.


His achievements for club and country include: 1x World Cup (2010), 1x European Championship (2012), 4x Champions League (07/08, 08/09, 10/11, 14/15), 8x La Liga (08/09, 09/10, 10/11, 12/13, 14/15, 15/16, 17/18, 18/19), 1x Premier League (08/09), 3x Club World Cup (2009, 2011, 2015), 3x UEFA Super Cup (09/10, 11/12, 15/16), 7x Copa Del Rey (08/09, 11/12, 14/15, 15/16, 16/17, 17/18, 20/21), 6x Supercopa de Espãna (09/10, 10/11, 11/12, 13/14, 16/17, 18/19), 1x League Cup (05/06)
