Juventus looking to sign Left-Sided Centre-Back in January

Updated: Nov 3, 2022

After their exit from the Champions League and poor run of form, Italian Giants, Juventus, are now looking to sign a new left-sided centre-back in the January 2023 market, according to Santi Aouna via Foot Mercato.

The Bianconeri, currently have no left-sided centre-back and letting in 6 goals to Benfica and dumping them out of the Champions League showcased the need for a new defender. They do however have the 2nd best defence in the Serie A, conceding 7 goals in 11 games but it is clear that in the Champions League there was a different story, and if results are wanting to be changed then Massimilano Allegri's team will need to splash out in the January Market.

The Juventus Board have established a shortlist of 4 names so far being: Brazilian Gabriel Magalhaes of Arsenal, Brazilian Igor of Fiorentina, Serbian Strahinja Pavlovic of RB Salzburg and Jakub Kiwior of Spezia.

Jakub Kiwior, is already being hunted by fellow Italian club, AC Milan, who had reportedly almost agreed an €18 million deal with Spezia. However, with Spezia hiring a new Sporting Director, Eduardo Macia, who was at Girodins de Bordeaux, the negotiations have slowed down. He now wants to wait up until the end of the Qatar World Cup and hope that Kiwior performs for Poland and will allow him to increase the asking price to around €30 million.
